Statement Regarding School Closure Dec. 14th to Dec. 18th Dear Families, Please be inform you that under Section 22 of the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act, the regions’ Medical Officer of Health has made the decision to close all of our schools to students beginning on Monday, December 14. The order remains in effect until Friday, December 18. Any full day child care programs for preschool & toddlers that currently operate in will remain open if it is feasible to do so however, any before and after school care programs will be closed. Winter Break Notification Dear Latchkey Child Care & Learning Centre Families, Latchkey Child Care & Learning Centre considers the health and safety of our families and staff a top priority. Although it was a very difficult choice, we have made the decision to close all of our child care centres for the two weeks of Winter Break. The enrollment projections do not make it conducive to support programs during this period. Latchkey locations will be closed from December 21, 2020 until January 3, 2021, reopening on January 4, 2021 for regular operation. Please contact your site supervisor to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. Working with COVID-19 Overview As centers reopen from this closure period, there have been many questions around how to social distance within the classroom and re-introducing children back to the routine of childcare. We will need to follow the requirements that our government and our local health unit has set out. We are diligently following all protocols that have been put in place thus far to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Access Policy Latchkey Child Care & Learning Centre Access Drop Off Latchkey Child Care & Learning Centre Supervisor/designate will screen children at the designated drop-off/pick-up site. Scheduled drop off appointments between 7am to 9am will be required. Drop offs that occur outside these times must be set up separately through Supervisor/designate. One family will be allowed in the drop off screening area at one time. Parents/Guardians are NOT permitted in the School/Centre. Latchkey Child Care & Learning Centre Supervisor/designate will take the child’s temperature, the parent/guardian’s temperature and a screening survey will be issued daily. Only one family will be allowed access to screening area at a time. Once child(ren) has been screened and is deemed safe to enter, a staff member will escort that child to the classroom.
